The Arts & Science Council is accepting qualifications from U.S. based artists/artist teams for a public art opportunity for the Mecklenburg County parking deck to be located at East 7th Street and N. College St. This RFQ represents an opportunity for an artist, or team of artists, to create a highly visible, wall-based artwork with mounted 3D relief elements sited on the right facing wall adjacent to the front entrance with dimensions spanning 21’-7” wide and 63’-11 ½” tall. The selected artist will work with the ASC, the Asset and Facility Management team of Mecklenburg County, Little Diversified Architectural Consulting, and the local library to create artwork that is complementary to the architecture and design of the building. Join us for the Pre-submittal meeting on July 30, 2026. This is an opportunity for potential applicants to learn more about the ASC Public Art program and ask questions regarding the project and submission process.
